My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, but I find no rest.
— Psalm 22:2

On Saturday, we find ourselves trapped between the pain of Good Friday and the miracle of Easter Sunday.

Here are Five Ways to Engage with Holy Saturday:

1. Sign up to pray

Make the most of the Prayer Room on Holy Saturday.

Create or dedicate time to reflect on Jesus’ love and sacrifice displayed on the cross.

Please note: Corringham Community Church will be hosting Easter Egg hunts at Dry Street Memorial Church between 9am - 12noon.

2. Be silent

Jesus’ example of going to a solitary place (Luke 4:42) challenges us to actively turn the volume down in our life and internally and externally, encourages us to learn how to be alone with God.

3. Lectio 365 App

Join in with the Lectio 365 app from 24-7 Prayer, as they unpack the themes of Pete Greig’s book, God on Mute, pray through the Bible’s teaching on suffering and unanswered prayer, and look to the ultimate hope of Jesus.

4. Watch this video

Reflect with Alain Emerson on knowing God in the pain of His silence. This video is from the 24-7 Prayer Lent podcast series from 2013, LOVE:EASTER.

5. Read ‘God on Mute’

Go deep into the heart of prayer with 24-7 Prayer founder Pete Greig, as he explores the pain of when our deepest cries are unheard by God, in his book God on Mute.

The book features a foreword from Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, and a 40 day study guide to work through on the journey to Easter.
