Encounter God, find community, and be sent with purpose.
We didn’t set out to build a church.
It started as a one-year experiment - a few families eating, praying, and opening their homes. But it didn’t stop.
What we found was life through community, shaped by prayer, full of joy, and open to anyone.
And it’s still growing.
What we’re about
-

Family
Anyone is welcome at our table.
Open tables, shared life, showing up for one another.
-
Encounter
Real experiences that shape us.
Making space to pray, worship, listen, and encounter God together.
-

Sent
Life is about more than ourselves.
Serving others with generosity, justice, creativity, and hope.
Sundays
Our Sundays each have their own rhythm - from worship and prayer to discussion and shared meals.
Whether you’re exploring faith or looking for community, Sundays are a simple place to start.
House Church
Much of Proximity life happens in smaller communities meeting in homes across the week.
We eat together, pray together, support one another, and learn how to follow Jesus in everyday life.
A community shaped by prayer
Prayer is woven through our life together - from quiet daily rhythms to creative worship nights, and spaces to listen for God together.
Loving our town
We partner with local initiatives, support vulnerable people, serve in care homes, and look for practical ways to bring hope across Thurrock and beyond.
Many people in our community also serve quietly through their everyday work — in schools, hospitals, prisons, and across local life.
You’re welcome here
Whoever you are, and wherever you find yourself on the journey of faith, there’s a place for you around our table.
We’re a community learning how to pray, serve, and grow together - and we’d love to help you find your place here too.
Whether you want to join us on a Sunday, explore a House Church, or simply start with a conversation, you’re really welcome.
