Sundays

A place to start

Church here looks a little different

Instead of doing the same thing every week, we gather in a few different ways across the month - each with its own rhythm and focus.

Whether you’ve been around church for years or you’re just curious, you’re really welcome.

What’s coming up this Sunday?

Our Sundays

1st + 4th Sundays: Altars

One hour for the curious and the hungry to seek God’s presence together.

Altars is a simple, reflective gathering centred around worship, prayer, and making space for God together.

Some weeks feel peaceful and quiet. Other weeks feel deeply joyful or expectant. There’s no pressure to perform or pretend - just room to pause, worship, listen, and pray.

If you’re visiting for the first time, Altars is probably the best place to start.

2nd Sundays: Encounter

Everyone in one space, encountering God as family.

We spend time in worship and creative prayer, hear teaching from the Bible from people within our community and the wider 24-7 Prayer movement, and make space to respond to God together.

Afterwards, we always share food together. There’s always room at the table - this is where a lot of the real life and community happens.

3rd Sundays: Learning

No one knows it all - together we have a better idea.

Learning Sundays follow a simple rhythm of teaching, discussion, and responding in prayer.

One of the phrases we often use is: “the wisdom is in the room.” We believe we can all learn from one another’s experiences, questions, and understanding of God - whether you’ve followed Jesus for 30 years or you’re only just beginning to explore faith.

Family Learning >

Families with children under 10 gather in a separate space to explore the Bible in accessible, creative, and age-appropriate ways together.

Life Together

Proximity Church has always been about more than a Sunday gathering.

We’ve grown around shared meals, creative prayer, friendships, house churches, and learning how to follow Jesus together in everyday life.

Some of the most meaningful parts of our community happen beyond Sundays - around dinner tables, in homes, on walks, in prayer spaces, and through showing up for one another throughout the week.

We call many of these smaller spaces House Churches: communities where people eat together, pray together, support one another, and share life honestly.

Sundays help shape and gather us, but community is something we want to live throughout the week too.
